Other charity news – The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation is funding, in concert with CAN, the development a set of rules for a Social Stock Exchange.
This new regulated exchange is designed for companies, of any size, that are providing goods and services explicitly for social purposes.
The objective is to help these socially-minded companies – essentially market-led business that prioritise social mission rather than just profits – to raise equity and gain access to capital in order to fulfil their social goals…
A great way for the voluntary sector to make in-roads into establishing more social businesses, that not only generate social capital but operate well within ethical boundaries too.
We look forward to seeing the final research results and the recommendations that emerge.
